Close a period

Bring fee runs, allocations, bank and card reconciliation, and GL posting together into one period-close worklist.

Steps

  1. Run the close worklist. It gathers the period’s management-fee and expense-allocation runs, bank and card reconciliation outstanding items and timing accruals, and the draft journal entries they produce.
  2. Review and approve each calculation run. Every run — fees, allocations, reconciliation — carries its own preparer, reviewer, and approver, and ties out to an Excel workpaper.
  3. Post drafts to the connected GL.Approval in NAVdryx triggers the post as a draft or unposted entry; NAVdryx checks that the GL’s period is still open before every attempt. Final posting happens in the GL itself, as the controller’s action — see Accounting close for why that split exists.
  4. Generate period reporting.Once fees, allocations, and reconciliation are settled, the period’s LP-facing reports — capital statements, rollforwards, performance metrics — are ready to produce. See Reporting.

If a GL integration is down

Nothing in the close worklist depends on a live GL connection to finish. A draft entry that cannot post automatically still exports as a CSV or Excel workpaper for manual posting, and the rest of the close — reconciliation, reporting — proceeds on schedule.
